Ghanaian Afropop/Afrobeat singer, Dennis Nana Dwamena, widely known as Kidi has revealed that he was tensioned about winning the Artiste of the year because his competitors were very tough, especially with Black Sherif in the same category.
Speaking in an interview with Abeiku Santana on Okay FM’s Ekwasodwodwo segment, Kidi revealed that he would have been disappointed if he didn’t win the prestigious award given the fact that he lost to Diana Hamilton last year, hence losing again this year will only make people presume he is unlucky in that particular category.
He stated that the cameras at the auditorium were projected on just him and Black Sherif and looking at how the latter refused to look into the camera, he realized that things were getting very tough with regard to the fact that it could be any of them.
However, Kidi mentioned that Black Sherif is very talented and needs to be protected by the industry and Ghanaians because he has managed to amass a lot of love and attention ever since he emerged into the music scene.
