Uppskill raises $100 K from investment tech company Ok! Acquired

NEW DELHI: Ed-tech company, Uppskill has announced raising Rs 1 crore from Bengaluru-based Investment Tech company, Ok! Acquired and its investors. This is uppskill’s first institutional round of seed funding. With this new round of seed funding, the current valuation of Uppskill now stands at $1 million. Co-founded by entrepreneurs Arbab Usmani and Abhishek Kumar Gupta, Uppskill is a skill-based educational platform that changes the way people learn and develop skills required to acquire jobs or help them directly in their businesses.

The online educational platform intends to use these funds to build its tech platform further and expand in different training areas such as sales, operations, finances, and tech. This round of funding will further be used to expand to more cities for offline training and customised corporate training for groups and individuals.

In a statement, Arbab Usmani, co-founder and CEO, Uppskill said, “With this partnership, we aim to empower more people and make our ecosystem better. We will use this fund to scale our learning platform by investing in Technology so that we can impact more lives and empower more students.”

A community of 27,000 members, Uppskill has played a pivotal role in education in marketing, but in the future, they would like to grow and empower more people through their courses. Now backed with the seed funding by Ok! Acquired, the Uppskill team is ready to face new goals and targets on the near horizon. Ok! Acquired and Uppskill’s joint efforts are now working towards their main goal of sustainability and growth in the digital tech sector and growing together in the new, digital India. Arbab is handling day to day activity of Uppskill.

In a statement, Subh Jha and Sujit Jha – co-founders, ok! Acquired said, “India with its 1.2 billion population has an enormous demand for education in its core. Hence, with Uppskill’s deep understanding of this market, we want to penetrate the 101 billion edtech market. We firmly believe that we will be able to unleash student potential to learn and earn from Tier-2 and 3 cities with the Upskill team.”

Uppskill’s vision is to bridge the gap between digital training & Indian citizens every day by helping them with relevant training and learning. Funding from the digital marketplace, Ok! Acquired helps them expand their efforts to work on this vision with more tech developments and teachings.
