Speaking in an interview on CTV, Coded stated that their decision to split up as a group came about following the constant release of hit songs by the controversial dancehall musician, Charles Nii Srmah Mensah who is known as Shatta Wale.
Coded said that at some point in time, Shatta Wale put every Ghanaian musician on their toes due to the fact that his constant release of hit records brought about a healthy competition among Ghanaian talents, they decided to go on a solo project and work harder as individuals.
“That was the era that a lot of singles were coming from Shatta Wale. That was the season he was releasing countless records. Shatta Wale will release a song today and in a maximum of two weeks, he is out with another song”, he said.
He said that most Ghanaian musicians were motivated to work harder just to meet up with the level ShattaWale has placed himself and that, he describes as a healthy competition, hence they came to a conclusion to split up and work on their own and add up to their group projects.
