Mozambique: Cyclone Freddy leaves houses and lives in ruins

Cyclone Freddy tore by Mozamique on Friday (Feb. 24) with winds reached as much as 113 kilometres. It made landfall within the japanese metropolis of Vilankulos

In its wake, it left many Mozambicans whose lives had been turned the other way up.

Maria Vasco Timbe and her 4 kids discovered themselves selecting up the items of what was left of their dwelling in Vilankulos.

“It occurred yesterday at 3pm, my son Nelson got here and stated to me: Mama at dwelling, you will not like what you see. Then I got here dwelling and actually noticed that every part was destroyed,” she says disheartened.

“No blankets, no meals. I couldn’t use something in there. I began considering, how am I going to begin constructing once more, as a result of from the place I stand it’s not attainable. How am I going to do it? I began to cry after I noticed that my kids wouldn’t go to high school as a result of they not had books and train books.”
