

One of the dreams of most local artists is to be heard and known for their brands both in their countries and also outside their country. However, highlife artist Kuami Eugene thinks otherwise.

Despite the good songs produced by the Lynx Entertainment signee Kuami Eugene, the artist seems to have other plans for his music career.

In a recent interview with Pan African Music, Kuami Eugene made clear his position of doing music in Ghana. He stated that despite everything, most artists make money in Ghana. He added that aside from their music, there are tons of endorsement deals in the country. Also, international companies who come to Ghana to invest mostly invest in big stars like himself.

“And I want them to hear ‘Kuami Kuami’ when they come to Ghana. I’m on a billboard, I’m on the radio, I’m on TV and it’s because I am what the locals want. I don’t want to leave, go international and lose what I have here. I need to figure out how to combine them both and how to gain from both sides”, he said.
Eugene Kwame Marfo, who goes by the stage name Kuami Eugene is a Ghanaian High-life and Afrobeat singer-songwriter. He is signed to Lynx Entertainment and is known for several songs, including “Angela”, “Wish Me Well”, “Ohemaa” and many others.
