Ghanaian award-winning rapper, Michael Owusu Addo, popularly known by his stage name, Sarkodie has expressed his displeasure on how his song “Ofeetso” is mostly being played by the New Patriotic Party at the functions, stating that it is one of the reasons why Ghanaians tag him as an NPP member.
From the look of things, it seems that the New Patriotic Party has chosen Sarkodie’s song “Ofeetso” featuring Bright of BukBak fame as their campaign song for this year’s general elections in December.
On Saturday 27th June, the New Patriotic Party(NPP) organized as acclamation ceremony at Alisa Hotel for H.E Nana Addo-Dankwa Akufo Addo as the flagbearer of the party.
Sarkodie who also returned fro Europe with his family is under a mandatory isolation at the Alisa Hotel where the NPP also held their event.
The rapper revealed that the excessive playing of his song is one of the main reasons why Ghanaians tag him as a member of the party.
He tweeted; “BTW this is my view right now… don’t know what NPP is doing outside playing Ofeetso back to back smh. Why won’t people tag me NPP … #Politics smh,” he captioned a video shot from his hotel window at the Alisa Hotel in Accra, where the NPP is also holding acclamation event for President Akufo-Addo as the party’s flagbearer of the 2020 presidential elections.
