ECOWAS reassures Burkina Faso of its dedication to eradicate insecurity

Guinea-Bissau President Umaro Sissoco Embalo, present president of the Financial Neighborhood of West African States (ECOWAS), visited Ouagadougou on Wednesday in a bid to supply his “help” to Burkina Faso within the face of jihadist violence..

Mr. Embalo met with Captain Ibrahim Traoré, the transitional president who took energy on September 30, 2022 in a coup, the second in eight months in Burkina.

On the finish of the assembly, “the present president of ECOWAS, who was reassured of the nice conduct of the transition, reaffirmed the supply of the West African group to help and accompany Burkina Faso within the battle towards terrorism,” stated an announcement from the Presidency of Burkina Faso.

Burkina Faso has confronted rising assaults by jihadist teams linked to Al-Qaeda and the Islamic State since 2015. They’ve left hundreds useless and at the least two million displaced and are partly answerable for two navy coups in 2022.
