4 Burundi rights activists arrested whereas attempting to journey

4 human rights activists have been detained in Burundi whereas attempting to journey to Uganda for a gathering with civil society organizations.

Talking on situation of anonymity for worry of retaliation, witnesses on the Bujumbura airport and staff with safety and the nationwide human rights fee informed The Related Press that brokers with the Nationwide Intelligence Service made the arrests Tuesday morning.

There was no fast assertion from Burundian authorities. Common prosecutor Sylvestre Nyandwi and the spokeswoman for the workplace of the prosecutor, Agnès Bangiricenge, didn’t reply to requests for remark.
