With few months to the 2023 elections, the Northern Elders Discussion board, NEF, has urged Nigerians to vote for candidates with competence and capability.
NEF cautioned Nigerians in opposition to counting on sentiments whereas sacrificing competence and capability.
The Chairman of NEF, Prof Ango Abdullahi, urged Nigerians to jettison ethnicity in deciding candidates to vote for in 2023.
He spoke at a city corridor assembly yesterday in Kaduna and was represented by the spokesperson of NEF, Dr Hakeem Baba Ahmed.
He careworn that the 2023 elections would present if Nigerians are decided to struggle for the nation.
“2023 election goes to check whether or not Nigerians are prepared to struggle for his or her nation now or they will profoundly remedy the issues of this nation.
“Don’t vote for anyone on sentiment. For the sake of our future and for the sake of our grandchildren, allow us to save this nation, we should vote.
“It’s irresponsible to vote for someone as a result of he bears your ethnic id, vote for competency and capability,” he stated.
He charged the federal government to make sure satisfactory safety to allow Nigerians vote for his or her candidates.
